I used to use this tool up to I believe version 5.1, but it has disappeared in the 5.2 update. I had assumed it had been incorporated into another tool as others have been, but I can't find out where or how it works now.

The on-line help menu makes no mention of it and the 5.2 new features video on YouTube stops short of addressing it. I did discover that the Line Clone Tool has options for aligning to either Rail or USC, but I don't see any difference in how the function and neither works like the old tool where you just activate it, click on a guide line and the object to be cloned is arrayed along the path.

Can someone point me in the right direction if this feature is still a part of LWCAD. Thanks.

If I understand what you are looking for correctly.
Its no longer the same name..i may be wrong.
but draw a curve, go to your LWCAD edit menu, then choose profile under smart edit. You can then choose from he list of profiles. You can also make your own cross sections and and add them to you library.

Hope this helps...only place i could find it.

found the other way..they moved some cloning stuff around.
make the object you want to clone.
Click on line clone, draw your straight line, curve or spline and then use parameters on numeric input to adjust the amount of clones scale and you can drag the curve around any way you like.
Quite interactive.

Sorry about killing this tool from list. It slipped out when we were adding NURBS surfaces. Those nurbs made everything more complicated. I will add Road tool back in more robust form with more options.

And I will never cut any tool from the list again. When we will be updating some tools radically I will leave also legacy version of the tool.

Thanks Gary for your input. In regards to your posts, the profile tool is different from what I was referring to and while the line clone tool is great for sketch cloning, it doesn't work as well with more complex guide lines. For example, if you wanted to make a combination of straight lines and curves for a decorative balcony. You could do it with the line clone tool but it would be more complicated than using the rail clone.

To Viktor, thanks so much for addressing this. I look forward to you re-introducing the deleted tools. I didn't even realize the Road Tool was gone as well until you mentioned it.

I have just run into this same issue, I was desperately in need of the Rail Clone Tool. Could not believe it was not there.

Thank goodness it will make a comeback, I hope that is going to be soon?

And I also didn't notice the Road Tool was missing, until now...
