Firstly, thanks so much for taking the time to port your architecturally focused suite in to C4D. We are sketchup / C4D architectural visualisers so its always great to see more related tools out there. I've watched some of the tutorials for LWCAD Lite and had a go with the final beta yesterday.
Some really good stuff in there but I have a few requests - many of which im sure are coming as I know some are in the LWCAD full version or I have overlooked them.
I really like the BIM style of drawing in walls and auto drilling in windows and doors. But is there an option for inserting fixed size windows and door rather than dragging for the size? Both options are really handy.
Wall length input. I know its in the LW CAD full version, would love to see that and also extended in to spline drawing if possible? C4D has nothing like this and its what makes Sketchup a more accurate tool. Draw a line or a wall and just type a length. Incorporating the measure tool as well would be really handy for quickly measuring distances.
Inferencing of angled walls / roofs. Perhaps I need to look more at the UCS tools but being able to draw parallel/right angled to any object would be good.
Curved walls - have I missed these somewhere?
Live preview of the next wall click in a chain. It would make it visually more reasuring that you can see the wall being laid down dynamically rather than clicking in space to see it.
Snaps. I might well need to try these some more but I didn't feel confident in them, I think a better live preview would help so I can see a glowing vertex or edge that Im hovering over before I click. Also probably user error but I found myself in a relative move mode where I couldnt just click on an object and move it with a single click - it always needed a second reference click point. But no doubt user error.
Spline snapping is a must for working with imported CAD.
Finally, I really like the UVW scale option for materials but I would love a way to paint bucket polygons to have different materials on different faces. Currently how is it possible to have brick on an external face and white paint on the internal face? And what about window reveals where the materials will need to split either side of the window?
But like I say I'm really excited about what you can produce, its great progress so far. Perhaps create a thread on CGtalk to show your wares. Cheers, Rob
